Scouting for Food is the largest single-day food collection event in Philadelphia and it's surronding counties. On one day, approximately 30,000 Scouts go door-to-door collecting non-perishable food item for the less fortunate.
The food Pack 554 collects is distributed to the food pantry in
Trinity Luthern Church,Abington Pa.
How do the Scouts get the Flyers?
Flyers will be distributed at the Den Meetings listed above under (SCOUT RECEIVES SFF FLYER)

NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRIBUTION-weekend - SATURDAY NOV 14 & SUNDAY NOV 15
COLLECTION PICKUP-weekend - SATURDAY NOV 21 & SUNDAY NOV 22
Food donations needed include canned items such as vegetables, meats, chili, soups or juices, and baby formula. Boxed or bagged meals and pastas are also welcome. The ideal food donation bag would include one of each.
(Please—nothing perishable, frozen or in glass. Monetary donations cannot be accepted.)
How does my son Distribute the Flyers?
Scouts are to distribute the flyers within their neighborhoods, apartments, etc. on the FLYER-DISTRIBUTION weekend (see link to FLYER above) by placing it inside the door knob or door of your neighbor..
When do the Bags get picked up?
It is the responsiblity of you and your son to walk around on the day that you put on the note that was attached to the Flyers and pickup all the food. A suggestion is either use a wagon or drive down the street slowly while you pickup at each house.
What do I do with the Food Collected?
All the food that your son collects, must be brought over to Delivery, Sorting, Boxing Location (listed above) during the designated time (listed above).
Please plan to have your son help unload, sort and box the items you bring over. Boxes will be provided, all you need to do is bring your son (scout) and collected food items.
